Research shows that eating the right nutrients and having enough fiber in your diet can reduce your risk of developing certain diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Some diseases, including diabetes and high blood pressure, often can be successfully treated and managed with diet or a combination of diet, exercise, and medication.

Diet Plan Services

Our registered dietitians/nutritionists can develop a nutritional plan that is tailored to meet your health needs. They partner with Summit Medical Group cardiologists, endocrinologists, obstetricians, and expert staff in our Diabetes Live Well Program to ensure that you receive thoughtful, comprehensive care.

If you are interested in adopting healthy dietary habits, a Summit Medical Group nutritionist may be able to assist. They can help you lose weight, eat well during your pregnancy to maintain your health and the health of your baby, and improve your nutrition to address specific medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, hypothyroidism, and fatigue.

Through education about the most nutritious foods and helpful tips on how to avoid common food allergens, our dietitians/nutritionists can help boost your energy and improve your overall health.

What are the keys to a healthy diet plan?

Your daily diet and physical activity are important to your health. Research shows that what you eat can affect how you feel today and in the future.

Three keys to a healthy diet are:

  • Making smart choices from each food group, including fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products, meat or other protein-rich foods, and fats
  • Finding a balance between how much food you eat and your physical activity
  • Getting the most nutrition from your calories
