Nicole Patrone, MD is a member of Summit Medical Group's Family Medicine team. Dr. Patrone cares for a wide range of conditions in patients from infancy and childhood through adulthood as well as geriatric patients. She has a special interest in adolescent care and women’s health, performing pap smears, IUD insertion and removals, Nexplanon insertions and removals, birth control counseling, and other gynecologic procedures. Dr. Patrone strongly believes in continuity of care through a team-based, doctor-patient approach. “Being cooperatively involved in my patients ongoing health care needs allows me to be a more effective advocate for my patient’s overall health and general wellness,” says Dr. Patrone.
Dr. Patrone’s desire to become a physician stems from witnessing her own parents selfless fostering of underprivileged, medically unwell children from Central and South America while she was growing up. Her parents provided a loving home for these children and medical care they would otherwise not receive. Viewing these efforts first hand, along with the many doctor’s appointments, fueled her hunger to help others.
Dr. Patrone served as Chief Resident during her Phelps Family Medicine residency program. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Patrone enjoys spending time with her husband and dog in the great outdoors—hiking, camping and exploring our country’s national parks. She is a supporter of The MS Society and all pet rescue efforts.
