Alison Price, MD is a member of Summit Medical Group's Breast Surgery team. Dr. Price is skilled and experienced in breast surgery and treats both cancer and benign breast disease. She performs breast conserving surgery, skin and nipple sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node mapping, axillary lymph node dissection, image guided biopsies and excisions, insertion and removal of port-a-cath (a device placed under the skin often used for chemotherapy). Dr. Price has special interest in treating young women, high-risk patients, and those with a high-risk family history.
Dr. Price understands that patients can only make the best choices when they have the best information. Her role as a surgeon necessitates presentation of accurate, up-to-date information to patients regarding their diagnosis, pathology, and options for care. “Understanding that every patient has unique concerns and health goals is essential to tailoring an appropriate comprehensive care plan,” says Dr. Price. “People have different experiences, beliefs, and cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds, which all shape their perspective and it’s important to take all of that into consideration in order to be of the greatest help,” she adds.
Dr. Price is cognizant and respectful of the busy lives her patients lead and therefore, places emphasis on effective communication both in and outside office by being accessible to her patients by phone, email, or text. Her goal as a surgeon is to make an often daunting and complicated situation seem manageable. She is proud to work with an expert interdisciplinary team to provide true comprehensive care throughout the entire course of a patient’s treatment.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Price enjoys skiing, snowboarding, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family.
