Ahmad F. Mahmoud, MD is a member of Summit Medical Group's Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) team. Dr. Mahmoud diagnoses and treats a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions in children and adults. An aerodynamicist by training, Dr. Mahmoud has particular expertise in the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea and performs aerodynamic surgery in the nose and throat. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Mahmoud attended Rutgers University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He went on to work for NASA as an aerodynamics engineer where he developed rocketry and fuel pump technology for several notable space missions. Seeing an opportunity to apply his knowledge in medicine, Dr. Mahmoud attended medical school and residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he translated his aerodynamics research into improving breathing for patients with nasal and airway obstruction as well as obstructive sleep apnea. In his spare time, Dr. Mahmoud enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He plays soccer, squash, and is an avid kayaker and hiker.
