Nele Jessel, MD, FAAP, is Medical Director for Clinical Informatics at Summit Medical Group. She serves as primary physician champion for all major clinical information technology projects including Electronic Health Record adoption, optimization and training. Her Clinical Informatics team plays an integral role in supporting the organization’s efforts to achieve population health outcomes through clinical documentation improvement, achievement of regulatory requirements, quality metric data capture, and other quality improvement program goals designed to improve care delivery within an ambulatory practice setting. Dr. Jessel holds a certificate in Health Information Technology from Columbia University and has served on the AthenaHealth Physician Advisory Board.
Prior to her role of Medical Director for Clinical Informatics, Dr. Jessel was Founder of Bridgewater-Raritan Pediatrics, where she had practiced since 2012. Before that, she was a pediatrician with Advocare / Sinatra and Peng Pediatrics in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Dr. Jessel has been an instructor of pediatrics at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital and Somerset Medical Center. She was a pediatric hospitalist at Hunterdon Medical Center.
Dr. Jessel is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the Goryeb Children's Hospital Advisory Committee. She is a recipient of the Goryeb Children's Hospital Arthur Ackermann, MD, Award. She has also been featured in New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kid's Docs" listings.
