Cherry Lou C. Rudge, MSN, APN-C, specializes in general internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and emergency medicine. Ms. Rudge has experience with trauma, critical care, and chronically ill cardiac patients. Before joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. Rudge practiced in the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute and Emergency Department of Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey. Since joining Summit Medical Group, she has worked as a hospitalist in St. Barnabas Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center. She now returns to one of her earlier interests, cardiology, as she joins the electrophysiology department at Summit Medical Group.
Ms. Rudge says, "I empower my patients with education about their health and encourage them to take an active role in decisions about their health, well-being, and health care." She adds, "I believe continuity of care offers patients the best possible outcomes for their health. For this reason, I work to deliver outstanding, comprehensive care that considers each of my patients as a whole."
Ms. Rudge is a recipient of the 2014 Emergency Department Nurse of the Year Award and Fairleigh Dickinson University Henry P. Becton Excellence in Nursing Award. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
When she is not working with her patients, Ms. Rudge enjoys spending time with her family as well as skiing, traveling, playing the electric organ, and participating in Zumba.
